Kohima is the capital city of Nagaland state. Located at an altitude of 1261m (4137 ft), the city is the home to 16 tribes. The cultural heritage of these tribes is displayed during the Hornbill Festival which is held in December. The Naga tribe Heritage Village, Kisima is located 12 km (8 mi) from the city. The city is also known for Kohima Cathedral which is the largest cathedral in all of Asia. The Dzukou Valley, known for its panoramic view of the mountains, wild flowers and streams, is 30 km (18 mi) away from the city.
