Kanker is a small town renowned for its royal palace including the tribal villages and the deep forests. The palace at Kanker is still resided by the royal family of the area. Kanker is famous for tribal teak wood and white wood carvings including models, idols, wall panels and furniture items. Other traditional handicrafts include bell-metal items, terracotta items, bamboo items, etc.
