Located on the banks of the Brahmaputra river, in the foothills of the Mikir hills, Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is home to the world‘s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses as well as the Indian elephant. It contains about 15 species of threatened mammals, over 300 avifauna species and thousands of migratory birds. Other important wildlife which can be seen in the park includes wild buffalo, tigers, panthers, bears, leopards, lesser cats, barking deers, otters, capped langurs etc.
