Manas National Park is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. It is contiguous with the Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, an Elephant Reserve and a Project Tiger Reserve. It is known for its rich biodiversity, spectacular scenery and natural landscape. It is home to more than 450 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles, 55 species of mammals like the capped langur, leopard, golden cat, Indian elephant, tiger, Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Here, pygmy hog, wild dog, swamp deer, Ganges dolphin etc.
