Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The city is situated in the Kashmir Valley, on the banks of the Jhelum River. Srinagar is famous for its cultural heritage, old bridges, gardens, lakes, houseboats, traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. The city forms a base for hiking, mountain biking and river rafting expeditions.
