Similipal National Park covers an area of 2750 sq.km (1062 sq.mi) and includes 3 protected areas: Similipal Tiger Reserve, Hadgarh and Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuaries. The park inhabits 42 species of mammals, 231 species of birds, 29 species of reptiles, 1076 species of plants, including 94 varieties of orchids. It is home to Royal Bengal Tiger, wild elephant, gaur, chausingha, Indian lap shell turtle, chameleon, python, cobra, etc.
Tourist sites in and around the park: Joranda and Barehipani waterfalls, Meghasani peak, crocodile sanctuary near Jashipur, etc.
