Mirik is a hill resort, situated at the altitude of 1767 m (5797 ft), offering a spectacular view of Mount Kanchanjangha. Mirik is 49 kilometres (30 mi) away from the famous Darjeeling hill station. The town is known for the centrally located Sumendu Lake with 24 m (80 ft) footbridge over it.
