Sundarbans National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park covers area of 10000 sq.km (3861 sq.mi) of land and water in the Ganges delta. It is made up of 54 small islands and contains the world‘s largest area of mangrove forests. Half of the territory is in India and the other half is in Bangladesh. The park is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger. It is home to a number of rare and endangered species such as the estuarine crocodile and the Indian python.
