Munnar is a hill station and a former British summer resort located at an altitude of 1600 m (5249 ft) in the Western Ghats. The town is situated at the confluence of the Muthirappuzha, Chadavurai and Kundaly Rivers and is surrounded by tea plantations. Munnar is a popular place for trekking. Close to Munnar is Punarjani Traditional Village showcasing kathakali and kalarippayattu classical Kerala dance and Indiian martial art performances.
