Rajkot is the former capital of Gujarat, located on the banks of two rivers Aji and Nyari. The city played a significant part in the Indian independence movement. It is associated with the early life of Mahatma Gandhi. Rajkot has its own native music genre, called Dayro, and is famous for its traditional sweets and Raas dance.
