Anjuna is a small village and a beach in the North Goa nestling between the Arabian Sea and the hill. It is located about 18 km (11 mi) from Panaji and is part of 30km (18 mi) stretch of beach coastline beginning at Fort Aguada and ending at Chapora Beach. Anjuna has a 2 km (1,4 mi) long rocky beach. It has a long reputation of a hippies resort and is world famous for its trance parties held on the beach. The village is a popular beach destination among backpackers, long-stayers and mid range tourists. Anjuna is renowned for the Wednesday’s Flea Market. The village also offers many opportunities for yoga classes and Ayurvedic massage.

When to visit: best time to visit October to March. March to May are hot and humid. June to September is monsoon season.

Nearest railway station: Thivim railway station is about 18 km (11.1 mi) away. Vasco De Gama train station is about 49 km (30.4 mi) away. Madgaon Junction railway station in Margo is about 54 km (33.5 mi) away. Margao station is the terminus station for several Konkan Railway trains and almost all trains passing through Goa stop here. There are direct trains from most parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Mangalore, Bangalore, Gujarat, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
