Palolem Beach

Palolem is a beach in South Goa, situated 70 km (44 mi) from the State’s capital Panaji. It is about 1,5 km (1 mi) sandy, crescent-shaped beach with rocks at the end. Palolem is a popular beach destination with beach hut culture and budget accommodation situated right on the beach, facing the sea. The beach huts operate only during the season and many places are not running until November. There are many yoga, belly dance, cooking classes, massages and therapies opportunities in and around Palolem. Palolem is in close proximities to Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Other beaches nearby: Colomb Bay, Patnem Beach, Butterfly Beach, etc.

When to visit: best time to visit October to March. March to May is hot and humid. June to September is monsoon season.

HOW TO REACH

Nearest railway station: Madgaon Junction railway station in Margao is about 36 km (22.3 mi) away. Margao station is the terminus station for several Konkan Railway trains and almost all trains passing through Goa stop here. There are direct trains from most parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Mangalore, Bangalore, Gujarat, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
