Candolim is a popular beach destination situated in the North Goa. It is one of the longest beaches in the state beginning at Fort Aguada and merging with Calangute beach towards the end. The beach is packed up with package tourists from UK, Russia, Scandinavia and other countries. Candolim is renowned for Fort Aguada, constructed in 1612 and remaining one of Goa’s most impressive forts. Candolim is also a popular destination for water sports.

When to visit: best time to visit October to March. March to May is hot and humid. June to September is monsoon season.

Nearest railway station: Thivim railway station is about 25 km (15.5 mi) away. Vasco De Gama train station is about 41 km (25.4 mi) away. Madgaon Junction railway station in Margo is about 46 km (28.5 mi) away. Margao station is the terminus station for several Konkan Railway trains and almost all trains passing through Goa stop here. There are direct trains from most parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Mangalore, Bangalore, Gujarat, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Buses: The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) is the state government’s bus service. Candolim Beach is well connected to the Panaji Bus Station. If you travel long distances you need to change buses. Biggest bus stations in Goa are – Mapusa, Panjim, Vasco da Gama, Margao and Canacona.
