Mandrem Beach

Mandrem is a beach in North Goa situated 32 km (19 mi) from from the state’s capital Panaji. It is located between Ashwem and Arambol beaches. Mandrem is a queit, isolated beach with vast stretches of empty sand. There are few huts on the beach offering snacks and Indian tea chai. Other eateries are located at the Madlamaz-Mandrem market nearby. There are quite few places around offering Yoga and meditation classes. A small Portuguese fort is located on the way to the beach from the village.

When to visit: best time to visit October to March. March to May is hot and humid. June to September is monsoon season.

Nearest railway station: Pernem railway station is about 15 km (9.3 mi) away. Thivim Railway station is about 21 km (13 mi) away. Karmali Railway station is about 38 km (23.6 mi) away. Vasco De Gama train station is about 58 km (36 mi) away. Madgaon railway station in Margao is about 63 km (39.1 mi) away. Margao station is the terminus station for several Konkan Railway trains and almost all trains passing through Goa stop here. There are direct trains from most parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Mangalore, Bangalore, Gujarat, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
