Varca is a beach in South Goa, situated 40 km (24 mi) from the state’s capital Panaji, south of Benaulim Beach. Varca is a part of 25 km (16 mi) sandy beach extending from Bogmalo to Cabo de Rama Fort in Cola. Varca is renowened for its pristine white sand beach which is home to some of the high-end hotels. The beach is quiet, cleaner then most beaches with numerous beach shacks offering Goan dishes and seafood. The Church of The Our Lady of Gloria is considered one of the oldest buildings in Varca.

When to visit: best time to visit October to March. March to May is hot and humid. June to September is monsoon season.

HOW TO REACH

Nearest railway station: Madgaon Junction railway station in Margao is about 7 km (4.3 mi) away. Margao station is the terminus station for several Konkan Railway trains and almost all trains passing through Goa stop here.
There are direct trains from most parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Mangalore, Bangalore, Gujarat, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
