Patan is an ancient town dating back to the 8th century. There are many sites of historical, archaeological, and religious significance in and around the town. Rani ki vav (Queen‘s step well), a step well included in UNESCO World Heritage list is a famous tourist site here. Patan is also known for its textile Patola sari, hand woven with delicate patterns. The city contains many Hindu and Jain temples as well as few mosques, darghas and rojas, fort, step wells and lake.
