Gulmarg is a hill station and a skiing resort. It is located in the Himalayas at an average altitude of 2690 m (8825 ft) near the Pakistan border. The resort is famous for Gulmarg Gondola – one of the highest cable cars in the world. Gulmarg is suitable for beginners as well as advanced skiers. There are off piste and heli-skiing possibilities as well. Outdoors activities during summers: trekking, mountain biking, golfing. The religious places of Baba Reshi, Haji Murad at Kreeri and Tangmarg are located within a 5 km to 20 km (3 mi to 13 mi) radius from resort.
