Kasauni is a hill station located at an altitude of around 1890m (6200 ft). Called by Mahatma Gandhi the Switzerland of India, the resort offers 300 km (187 miles) wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Panchchuli, Nanda Devi and Trisul. Kasauni is also the birth place of the famous Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant. There are various trekking sites in and around Kasauni.

When to visit: best time to visit is March to June and September to November.

Nearest railway station: Kasauni is not directly connected by railway. Kathgodam station is about 141 km away. Kathgodam is well connected by train with major destinations of India like Lucknow, Delhi and Kolkata.

Buses: Uttarakhand Roadways buses as well as private operators connect Kasauni to several other hill stations by road.
