Courtallam is a small town situated in the Western Ghats. The town is famous for its scenic surroundings and its numerous waterfalls. The main waterfalls include Main falls (Peraruvi), Small falls (Chitraruvi), Shenbaga Devi falls, Thenaruvi (honey falls), Aintharuvi (five falls), Puli aruvi (giger falls), Pazhaya Courtrallam (old falls), Puthu aruvi (new falls), Pazhathotta Aruvi (fruit garden falls).
