Thiruchendur is a small town and a popular pilgrimage destination for the Hindus, situated on the coast of the Indian Ocean. The town is famous for the temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is located along the seashore of Gulf of Mannar and is one among the six abodes of Lord Sri Subramanya. The town is also known for cashews cultivation, green vegetation and beaches.
