Ooty is a hill station located at an altitude of 2240 m (7349 ft) in the Nilgiri hills. Ooty was once a British resort. It is known for its colonial heritage, dense forests, lakes, gardens, hill tops and waterfalls. Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
