Ranchi is the capital city of Jharkhand state. It is also known as the City of Waterfalls and Lakes. The Ranchi Lake is centrally located and there are a number of waterfalls not far from the city. Ranchi is surrounded by the hills and forests and serves as a gateway to Betla National Park. Close to the city there is the Muta Crocodile Breeding centre, Deer Park, Birsa Zoological Park and Rock garden. Sarhul is the major festival, known for its colorful procession, traditional music and dance.
