Port Blair is the largest town and the main entry point to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is a small, green town with a vibrant mix of Bengalis, Tamils, Burmese and Nicobarese inhabitants. The town has many places of historical significance. The prominent landmark is the Cellular Jail with sound and light shows in the evenings, depicting India’s struggle for freedom. Close to the town is Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park with breathtaking natural sights. Port Blais has many diving schools for beginners.
