Aurangabad is a city, situated on the bank of the Kham River. The city serves as a base for visiting Ajanta and Ellora Caves. It is also known as the City of Gates and is famous for the 17th century Bibi Ka Maqbara monument, the only example of Mughal architecture in the region. Araungabad is a good place for shopping for Himroo textile, Kimkhab shawls and stoles, Paithani silk saris made of silk and gold threads and Bidriware.
