Lonavala and Khandala are two hill resorts within 5 km (3 mi) distance from each other. The hill stations are situated on the western ranges of the Sahyadris Mountains at the altitude of 622 m (2041 ft) and are popular health resorts. Resorts are also known for the production of hard candy called chikki.
