Sultanpur National Park is also the Bird Sanctuary established in 1991. Approximately 250 species of Birds are found in the area. Some of them are resident, including common hoopoe, paddyfield pipit, purple sunbird, little cormorant, while others come from distant regions like Siberia, Europe and Afghanistan including Siberian crane, greater flamingo, ruff, black-winged stilt, common teal, common greenshank, northern pintail, yellow wagtail, etc.
The park is located 15 km (10 mi) from Gurgaon and 50 km (31 mi) from Delhi.
