Jodhpur is the second largest city in the state also known as the Sun City due to sunny weather and the Blue City as most of the houses in the old city are painted blue. It is a historical town situated on the edge of the Thar Desert and often referred to as the Gateway to the Thar. The town is known for the 15^th century Mehrangarh Fort.
