Ranthambore is a national park and a Project Tiger reserve. The park covers an area of around 392 sq.km (151,35 sq.mi). There are several lakes in the park and it is dominated by Rathambore Fort, the UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is home to more than 270 species of birds, 540 species of flowering plants and one of the largest banyan trees in India. The major wild animals present here include tigers, leopards, nilgais, sambar deers, wild boars, desert cats, Indian foxes, hyenas, sloth bears, chitals, etc.
