Amarkantak is a pilgrimage town situated at the altitude of 1048 m (3438 ft). It is believed that the town is a place of worship of all three worlds: gods, demons and saints and is often referred to as the King of Pilgrimages. The town has many places of scenic beauty and is the source of the rivers Narmada and Sone. Holy ponds, hills, forested surroundings, breathtaking waterfalls make it an ideal place for the pilgrims and nature-lovers.
