Kanha National Park is a national park and a Tiger Reserve. The park extends over an area of 940 sq. km (363 sq.mi). It is home to several rare, endemic and endangered species of mammals. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear,swamp deer and the Indian wild dog. The beauty of the park is described in Rudyard Kipling’s famous book – The Jungle Book, with characters Mowgli and Bangheera.
