Bandipur National Park

Bandipur National Park is a Project Tiger Reserve. Situated in the foothills of the Nilgiris, it covers the area of 874 sq.km (337 sq.mi) and is responsible of protecting several species of India’s endangered wildlife. The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. There are around 230 species of birds, including peafowl, wood pecker, stork, heron etc. Mammals and reptiles including tiger, leopard, elephant, spotted deer, gaur, sloth beer, Asiatic wild dog, Indian python, cobra, flying snake etc.
The best time to visit the park is between March and June and between September and November.
