Bengaluru also known as Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka. The city is often refered to as the Silicon Valley of India and is India’s leading IT exporter. It is a green city with many parks, broad streets and is also called the Garden City of India. It is a cultural city with many festivals and international rock concerts held here periodically. It is one of the most liveable cities in India and home to Kannada film industry.

Nearest railway station: Bangalore is well connected by railway to major cities of India. Two major stations in Bangalore - the City Railway Station (IR station code: SBC) situated in the city center opposite the Majestic Bus stand and the Yeshwantpur Junction (IR station code: YPR).

Nearest airport: KempeGowda International Airport (IATA: BLR), (ICAO: VOBL) is located in Devanahalli about 40 km (25 mi)away from the central business district of Bangalore (MG Road) and about 30 km (19 mi) away from the Bangalore City Railway Station.

Buses: Kempegowda Bus Station also known as Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus stand or the Majestic Bus Station is located opposite the Bangalore city railway station. It handles buses that connect Bangalore to all major cities and states in south India. Government and private buses run services to major cities like Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati, Hyderabad, etc.
Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), maintains bus services within Bangalore. The main bus stand is located opposite to the Kempegowda Bus Station.

Get around: Bangalore is connected by metro system. To use the system, either buy a smart card and load it with credit or buy a token each time you want to ride the metro.
All parts of Bangalore are connected by buses. They are cheap, but also quite crowded most of the time.
Bangalore is well-serviced by smartphone-app based cab-service providers. Popular services are Ola, Uber and Meru.
Auto rickshaws (also called tuk-tuk or simply autos) are good for shorter trips.
Cycle rickshaws are good for short distances, or places which are too far to walk but too short for taking a bus/taxi/auto rickshaw.
